An article on Canada.com reports an interview with Carolyn Dawn Johnson, the new singing and songwriting success in Canadian country, and compares her with Shania: ""It's easy to compare me to Shania because we're both Canadians and we're both females and we're both singer-songwriters, but that's about as far as it goes," says Johnson, who was born in Deadwood, Alta. "I'm proud that they're comparing me because I honestly think she's done something wonderful by just being who she is." "The scariest thing about it is having so much to live up to. this time this type of publication has printed photos of a mother and her
baby enjoying their time together. I have already expressed my position in
the past, and I again find myself very disturbed by these magazines invading
Shania's privacy. Hopefully Shania's family life will be respected in the
future more than it has been in the recent past. FV

Well, I just found an article that gives a little More detail about what an Accomplishment hitting 7 Million was. In fact, the article puts Shania's Europe Sales in the SAME league as The BEATLES!! There still are between 150 to 200 visitors a day, said Will Saari, tourism and attractions manager for the City of Timmins. About 2,500 people had purchased tickets to see the centre on its opening weekend, June 30 to July 2. canoe.com musicsite talks about Shania's letter to the centre: "It wasn't
exactly a Hallmark moment, but Shania Twain has said "thank you""after all.
A thank you letter from the country singing superstar has finally arrived
in the city of Timmins, where the new $5 million Shania Twain Centre opened
nearly three weeks ago. There was some grumbling among fans and city officials
on June 30 when there was no acknowledgement at all from Twain as the centre
officially opened. The letter, dated June 30, was delivered by Federal Express
to Timmins City Hall this week." New Country Music Magazine. There were two articles

was an article about Shania's Message to the Centre! Shania's message to the Centre has been posted! Steve's Letter on Daily Press Website! Our Great Shania Fan Steve has sent in a letter to the Timmins Daily Press, thanking all those people in Timmins who have helped us out during our wonderful stay there. Here is an excerpt from his letter: "Shania fans say Timmins does have a heart of gold. HI, I AM a member of the Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club. As I'm sure most of you are aware, about 30 of us represented the fan club for the opening of the Shania Twain Centre. We had been planning this trip for well over a year once we became aware of the opening. As time was ticking down to June 30, we were all pretty excited about going to Timmins to see the event, and see Shania there for the dedication... We found that not only did you approve of us, but that you were very warm and friendly. Everywhere we went this is what we found. It made our trip that much better and more memorable. We especially want to thank Mayor Jamie Lim; Will Saari, Tourism Timmins; Dave McLaughlin of CKGB Radio; Corinna Wrona of MCTV News and the staff of The Daily Press. Special thanks also to Renee Ouellette of the Senator Hotel for taking care of our needs and making life easier for us during our stay. Thanks to Michele Chaput for a great tour of Timmins during our last snow-flurried day, and to anyone I may have overlooked, thanks again! Corinna Wrona, "Timmins Fan Fest was indeed a great blast!" Many Canadian
country artists visited Timmins this past weekend and performed there on
the same stage. "About 9- thousand people were in Hollinger Park. The weather
was absolutely PERFECT. Sunny and hot. 12 Canadian performers took to the
stage, all are huge on the Canadian country circuit...'tho a few aren't known
in the States yet. The show opened at Noon on Saturday, with Aaron Lines.
Aaron was so impressed with local singer Tracey Chamberlain...he invited her
onstage to sing with him. The show continued throughout the day with great
performances by Chris Cummings, Amanda Stott, Steve Fox, Diane Chase, Adam
Gregory, Jim Cuddy from Blue Rodeo, Jamei Warren, Lace, Shillelagh and Paul
Brandt taking the stage at 10:30 pm. What a great day!! From the great weather...to
the great food...to the great crowd!! Suprisingly, ALL of the artists
stayed to sign autographs for the fans. Adam Gregory (the teen heartthrob)
signed for three hours!!) Paul Brandt made an announcement from the stage
that he'd sign for ANYONE who wanted an autograph. He was signing at the
Hollinger until way past 2 o'clock in the morning." Fan Club on Shania Official Site! It is sad to report that on July 3 some individuals have vandalized the Shania Sign at the Shania Twain Centre :( We are all confident that this is the action of an isolated person who simply cannot understand the beauty of Shania's music! The city of Timmins has promptly reacted by cleaning the sign. Thanks Timmins! From the Timmins Daily Press website: "Less than a week into business, the Shania Twain Centre has been the target of vandalism. Early Tuesday morning, someone spray painted an obscenity on the centres sign located on Park Road. Even vandals, however, could not dampen the upbeat spirit of officials connected with the $11-million tourist attraction. I heard about it, but I didn't see it myself, said Timmins tourism and attractions manager Will Saari. We sent a building and maintenance crew out and they cleaned it up." Party to celebrate Shania's 36th Birthday! "Neither rain nor broken legs
could stop Timmins residents and visitors from celebrating Shania Twain's
36th birthday at the centre named after her, Tuesday. There are activities
around the world celebrating Ms. Twain's birthday, said Mayor Jamie Lim at
the party. We've had people calling, sending e-mails the messages are amazing
reading from around the world, wishing her well on her birthday." You can
