Shania Fans' Responses! In January 2002, the Country Music Magazine published a great article on Shania and her relevance in today's country music. The magazine has received many favoarable responses to that article by James Hunter titled "Oh Sister, Where Art Thou?" COO in New AD Campaign! According to the official site of the Canadian government, a new promotional campaign with TV Ads has been started. The commercial shown on the Detroit station (WDIV channel 4) sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, has many different scenes of Ontario and the people are singing "Come on Over". It introduces COO as Shania's song at the beginning. It's actually Shania singing throught the commercial with other people joining in at various times during the commercial. New Shania Bio! According to the French website FNAC , there is a new Shania biography in French titled "Rendez-vous avec Shania Twain" (Meeting Shania Twain). The author is Yves Bordreau and it has been published in Quebec in January 2002. The Answer is IN! According to the credits as printed on the CD backcover of the new Michael Bolton's single, Shania did not sing backup vocals, Mutt Lange does! (I think there are a couple of Shania fans who owe me a donut or two LOL..:)) In addition, here to the left a photo of Shania and Michael Bolton together on stage at one of the charity events sponsored by the Michael Bolton Charities ! New Album in September? According to information posted at the countrystars.com website, Luke Lewis, Mercury Nashville Records President,  has been reporting to the press that Shania's next album will be even better than the already diamond award releases of the "Woman In Me" and "Come On Over." Here it is in his own words: "SHANIA DETERMINED TO TOP HERSELF WITH PRECEDENT-SETTING CD. When Shania Twain's second album, THE WOMAN IN ME was approaching 10 million in sales, she told me she thought that she and husband/producer Robert Mutt Lange could top that success with the third album they were working on at the time. Of course, COME ON OVER has since blown off the doors of that first album with its double-diamond sales. So, when word comes from Shania's camp that she and Mutt Lange are determined to top themselves again you have to pay attention. Mercury Nashville's top executive, Luke Lewis, tells us he's heard a good portion of what they've recorded so far for the new album and says what he's heard so far is stronger than what she's done before. Scary thought. Twain and Lange are still working on the album and should have enough material to release on one disc, what would normally be a double disc CD release. "I told Mutt, 'Why don't you fill up all 74 minutes of the CD for added value?'" That could amount to 20 some tracks on Twain's fourth CD. RELEASE NOT SET - Lewis says the target date to release the album is sometime in September but emphasizes that no date is at all certain at this point. Shania's Records. Just when you think Shania has been in Every book about Record-breaking sales & chart successes, Shania pops up in Another one. This time, there are SEVERAL mentions of Shania, including a HUGE Photo of Shania, in a book called "The Top 10 of Everything 2002"! On his promotion trail for his new CD "Only A Woman Like You," Michael Bolton has talked about Shania and her contribution to his new single during an interview with EZ Rock Radio Station in Toronto. Countrystars on Shania. The music website countrystars.com has posted information on Shania's contribution as a songwriter and the possibility of seeing the new album out late summer/early fall. "Shania Twain and her writing partner (and partner in life) Mutt Lange have written songs for other acts before and have done so again. According to MJI, the song, "Only a Woman Like You," the title song for the new Michael Bolton album (due April 23). Twain and Lange wrote the tune with Rami and Max Martin. (SHANIA'S ALBUM? Shania wrote the Lyrics... According to the interview Michael Bolton gave on the Radio Show Delilah on Feb. 14, the lyrics to the first single out of his new album, "Only A Woman Like You," were written by Shania. Mutt Lange and other two composers wrote instead the music for the song. :) We already said GREAT LYRICS: WAY TO GO SHANIA! (Thanks Roger, from the STNAOFC Messageboard !)

Shania in Canadian Record Books! It seems that Shania holds the All Time record for the LONGEST Time between First being at the # 1 position on the OVERALL Canadian Albums chart & REgaining the # 1 spot on that chart! There is an article on Canoe.ca in their Weekly 'Chart Talk' section that mentions Shania's "Come On Over" CD as being the one that Holds that record. Snowmobilers to Shania Centre! According to an article posted at  the Timmins Daily Press website, 50 snowmobilers from Pennsylvania have pulled up to the Shania Twain Centre (see photo from the newspaper site here below), Friday, to visit it and the Timmins Gold Mine Tour. Despite the cold weather, they stated that "We don't want any part of buses — we like to snowmobile to what we see," like the Shania Twain Centre, the Timmins Gold Mine tour and Cedar Meadows, where they took the horse-drawn sleigh ride, getting up close and personal with moose, bison, musk ox and other animals large and small." Sled access in Timmins, he said, "is good — you can get in and out easily."" Shania and Mutt Write for Bolton! Shania and Mutt have co-written at least one track on Michael Bolton's new album which is due out on April 23rd from JIVE Records . The song is titled "Only a Woman like You." This is, as far as it is known, Shania's second collaboration with her husband on a song to be recorded by other artists. The first one was last year's Britney Spears' track "Don't Let Me Be the Last One to Know." (Thanks Parker, from the STNAOFC Messageboard and shania.net !)

The official website of the Shania Twain Centre in Timmins has posted a picture of the Dallas Cowboys Jersey dress donated to Shania as a Thank You for her Dallas Show in 1999! Timmins Native Defends Shania Centre! K. Wilson from Ottawa, but originally from Timmins, Ontario, has written an open letter to the Timmins Daily Press to support and defend the Shania Twain Centre and its touristic value from recent attacks of some Timmins residents. The letter, published on January 25 in the newspaper, states what many visitors of the Shania Twain Centre have already been saying for a long time: "It is this kind of pessimistic thinking that will continue to undermine the positive promotion of this great city to the rest of Canada and the world. ...I believe the people who have made considerable sacrifices to see these projects come to light, deserve more appreciation for their efforts than mumblings about snow and garbage removal. Tourist attractions need time to grow and attract visitors. Wherever I travel, the people I meet instantly associate Timmins with Shania Twain and they are very interested to learn more about the city in which she was raised. According to an article posted at yahoo.com, titled "European acts grab platinum but Celine Dion queen," Shania Twain's has achieved the seven million mark of copies sold in Europe! This is exactly what the author, Merissa Marr, says: "U.S. rocker Bon Jovi and country singer Shania Twain were both rewarded for touring and launching big marketing campaigns in Europe.
