Go to Shania's Parties in the UK! Calling UK Fans or anyone that can get to UK. A competition in conjunction with the release of UP! involving TOTP2 is running at the moment. To commemorate the album's November release, "Shania's record company will be holding listening parties around the country and TOTP2 have some tickets to give away.

Shania Radio CMA Contest ! As a way to start the promotion for Shania's new CD "UP!" several radio stations are running a very cool contest: they give Shania fans the chance to win tickets to the CMAs Awards show this coming November where they will meet Shania, go to a private listening party for the new album, get a photo with Shania and attend the CMAs show! Call you local radio station and check with them if they are running the same contest! Among the radio stations that are currently having it are WYCD in Detroit and WMZQ in DC!

CMT MWL To Premiere First Video: Oct. 4! CMT MWL will be the first TV show to air Shania Twain's first new video for her new single titled "I'm Gonna Getcha (Good)." According to an article on yahoo, "CMT Gives Viewers the Exclusive World Premiere of Shania Twain's "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" Video Friday, October 4" at 7 pm during the CMT Show MWL! The video has been directed by Paul Boyd who had already worked with Shania for the video of "That Don't Impress Me Much!," and this time again it will be amazingly innovative: "Shania's new video promises to again raise the bar for music videos. The Mercury Records superstar does not give away the details but she does tell CMT's Katie Cook on the London based video set, "(I'm Gonna Getcha Good!") will be something different, something I've never done before. There will be animation - very futuristic and there's an edge to it. It will keep you a little bit on the edge of your seat. It's more of an action video, so it's different for me," she adds, "there are two personalities in the video. One is sort of the Shania and the other person is kind of the superhero."
CMT MWL will also show a behind the scenes of the making of the video in London: "CMT Host Katie Cook Travels to London to Spend Day With Shania Twain for an Exclusive CMT Special "Shania In London: Making The Video" to Debut Friday, October 11." Shania's First Official Interview! Canadian Shania fans had a great surprise when they bought their copy of the Toronto Sun or Ottawa Sun on Sep. 27, 2002. The papers run a long article on Shania's comeback, including new photos and Shania's answers to an interview that took place in France. Shania talks about motherhood, her new life in Switzerland, her feelings after September 11 last year, and her need for privacy and solitude. ""At the time, when we were deciding where to be, where to make our home, there was a lot going on. I was really having a hard time finding privacy and solitude," Twain says. "Since I've been here, I realize why Switzerland is so famous for that. People are very discreet. They really play down the fact that they're amongst a celebrity. Shania's European TV Promotion! It seems that European Shania fans will be super lucky this coming October. Not only is the official release date for Shania's new album UP! November 18 in Europe (one day ahead of North America), but Shania is also scheduled to perform the new single out of the album on a couple of European TV shows already. The Netherlands: The Dutch TROS TV Show will be taping a segment with Shania as a musical guest on October 2nd from 3 to 6 pm in their studio near Amsterdam. Mercury Says It: Nov. 19! Shania Twain's official site at Mercury Nashville has announced that they are now ready for the final confirmation regarding Shania's new album release date: November 19 in North America! Here is the post from the official site's messageboard: "Okay fans, it's official -- Shania Twain's new record UP! will be released in stores on NOVEMBER 19th! The album, produced by Mutt Lange, includes all songs written by Twain and Lange. UP! marks the first record since the unbridled success of 1997's Come On Over. Shania: The Teacher! Countrynow.com has spread the news that Shania will become a teacher/mentor in one of the new British Pop Idol shows that will air later this year in the UK. "Shania will be among the recording artists who'll help school pop idol wannabes for a new British TV show titled Fame Academy." A British site has confirmed the news about the BBC show: "Chart stars Shania Twain, Enrique Iglesias and Anastacia are among the experts who will give masterclasses to pop wannabes for the BBC's new talent hunt Fame Academy, it was announced today. "Twang & Bang"! The Sep. 20 issue of Entertainment Weekly has a page long article on Shania's new CD and her career. The article appropriately titled "Twang & Bang" has great things to say about Shania's new album, in particular: "Might have 19 tracks, with different versions (glossy globo-country, bright Supertrampy arena-pop) engineered for different world markets. “I know I have pop fans, I know I have country fans,” Twain says “I want them both to be entertained by what they’re hearing.” And for all Shania fans who were wondering why Shania's new album is titled "UP!": "“It’s up and it’s cheerful,” Twain says. “We wanted to enjoy writing it, we wanted to feel up about the whole thing, so we just ended up gearing everything towards a very positive feeling.” The same article has also the first official photo of Shania (shown here to the right), taken by Italian Maxim photographer Davide Cernuschi! $1,099.99! The auction organized by The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, which aids the families left behind after the Sep. 11 disaster, has ended. Shania's autographed items have brought in US $1,099.99, the second highest bid among all celebrities' items! Congratulations to womeninme for having won the auction, a great Shania fan! Shania is Ultimate Model! The Calgary Herald has printed today a great article on how Shania has become a model to many new singers who are coming out in the country music business. Heath McCoy writes: ""Where would things be if Shania hadn't been here?" she asks. "I think she helped country music. I have so many friends that never liked country music until Shania came along. Details on Recording of New Album? The country music website countrynation.com has posted an article on Shania's new album, including information on where and when Shania recorded it. Citing a Norwegian newspaper as the main source for the information, the article says: "According to Westwood One, Twain tells the Norwegian newspaper, Dagbladet, that she isn’t concerned about her new project breaking the records she set with her album, Come On Over, saying that the biggest goal she’s had with any of her projects is that fans don’t walk away feeling cheated. 
UP! was recorded just about everywhere but Boise, Idaho. Studio stops included Ireland, Germany, Italy, Austria and France, plus the Caribbean and India, both while pregnant -- and after giving birth to her son. "I didn’t want to fly while I was pregnant, so we traveled around Europe by train and car, wrote songs, hired studios and found musicians that we wanted to work with," says Twain. 
Twain also reveals that she and her husband/producer, 'Mutt' Lange, brought Eja along to the Caribbean. "I didn’t record the vocals on the album until after the delivery, so he was with me in the studio. He slept while I sang, or I took care of him in between tapings. "COUNTRY MUSIC’S BIGGEST STARS PERFORM ON “THE 36TH ANNUAL CMA AWARDS” Entertainer Nominees Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney To Appear; Shania Twain’s First Network Television Performance Since 1999.
 NASHVILLE – “The 36th Annual CMA Awards” will include performances by some of the biggest names in Country Music. CMA announced today that Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney and Shania Twain will perform on the CBS Television Network broadcast live Wednesday, Nov. 6 (8:00-11:00 PM/EST) from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. All-time leading CMA Award winner Vince Gill will host the gala event for the 11th consecutive year.
International superstar and CMA Entertainer of the Year (1999) Shania Twain makes her much-anticipated return to the CMA Awards in 2002 – with her first network television performance since 1999. Twain will perform new music from her soon-to-be released fourth album UP!. On Sep. 9, Anne Murray, a Canadian country music singer, was inducted in the Hall of Fame of the CCMAs: a tape of Shania congratulating Anne Murray for her career was shown to the audience present that had an AWESOME reaction to Shania's words! Shania Item Auction for 9/11 Charity! Cantor Fitzgerald is a brokerage firm whose offices were high in one of the World Trade Center Towers. Almost 700 employees were killed on Sept 11th, the worst casualties of any company; 25% of all the WTC victims. On Aug. 30, 2002, the American channel CMT US has aired a new show titled: "Top 40 Women of Country" that presented a ranking of the top 40 female artists of all time in country music. Shania Twain was ranked at #7!!! and for the first time CMT showed a preview of a new Shania interview that will air later this fall for the CMT New Shania Twain Special hosted by Katie Cook. New Fall Hours for Shania Centre! The Shania Twain Centre and the Timmins GoldMine will switch to Fall opening hours as of September 3, 2002. 
"For the benefit of the travelling public, the Timmins Gold Mine Tour and Shania Twain Centre will be open Labour Day, Monday September 2nd, from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. with Gold Mine Tours scheduled at 10:30 A.M. & 1:30 P.M. 
Both facilities will be closed on Tuesday September 3d, so that we may switch to our Fall and Winter schedule.
As of that date the Gold Mine Tour will be offered from Wednesday to Sunday at 10:30 A.M. and 1:30 P.M.
The Gold Mine Tour will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Final date of operation for the Gold Mine Tour for the 2002 season will be October 31st.
Hours of operation for the Shania Twain Centre will also be Wednesday to Sunday 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.  Closed Monday and Tuesday.
Group Tours of both facilities are available at any time by prior arrangement.

CMT Needs Shania Fans. The production company of the show "CMT: Inside Fame: Shania Twain" (Tangible Vision) is looking for Shania photos and/or videos taken by Shania fans. In particular, they would like "to borrow photos from personal collections-from all years, such as earliest performances in Timmins bars & diners to Deerhurst Inn shows to her sell out arena concerts!" In addition, they can use candid photos from all years, headlines and ads, footage, Timmins landmarks significant to Shania's youth, photos regarding charity and volunteer work, etc. 
At the moment they are not interested in photos of fans with Shania...they simply would like to see and maybe use photos of Shania taken by the fans..maybe at FanFair, or a concert..They will also need to get the fans to sign a photo release stating that they can use the photos on the air. All materials will be returned.

More Details Circulating at Radios! The country music website Countrystars.com has posted a recap on all information regarding Shania Twain's New album: 
"Here's the latest information circulating through some top programmers regarding Shania Twain's new single and album. STUFF KNOWN already, Shania's first single from the fourth album (containing 19 songs, due out Nov. 12.) will be available on DGS one minute after midnight on September 23. 
NEW INFO, one report says the title of the song is "I'm Gonna Getcha Good," and that Twain may hold a press conference in Paris where she'll sing and premiere the video. 
THE ALBUM release may actually involve the release of three albums of identical songs but each set mixed differently. The GOAL may be to sell more albums worldwide than Michael Jackson's Thriller. TWAIN is scheduled to appear on the CMA Awards show. 
SPECULATION - Shania Twain has already used the remix idea to boost the sales of a previously released album. When she released the re-mixed version of Come On Over for international sales, because the title of the album remained the same, and the same songs remained in the same sequence the sales of the remix album counted were added in to the overall sales of Come On Over. So, by simultaneously releasing country, pop and international versions of the same album, Twain could generate huge sales more quickly.

2002 STNAOFC Fundraiser: Please Help! The Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club has decided to help America's Second Harvest and the Kids Cafe with its 2002 Annual Fundraiser. The charity was chosen with 51% of the votes among four possible charities and has been supported repeatedly by Shania Twain in the past . The amount of the fundraiser will be determined by donations from Shania fans and by special auctions of Shania memorabilia organized by the Fan Club on Ebay. Final day to send in your donations is August 31! All donations will go straight to the charities. If you have any questions at any time, just send us an email at: fundraiser@shania-twain.org. There two ways to show your support: you can (1) donate  money directly or you can (2) bid on Shania items/memorabilia (some of them very rare!).

Mercury Confirms Title! Shania Twain's official website at Mercury Nashville has now confirmed the new Shania album title: UP! Here's the news from the website on Aug. 20, 2002:

CMT: Women of Country! Shania will be featured in a CMT Special titled: "Women of Country" on CMT US Friday - August 30, 2002 at 01:00 am ET. Pre-order Shania's New Album. According to amazon.com, Shania fans can now pre-order Shania's new album. At the moment, Shania's label (Mercury Nashville ) cannot confirm the official release date for the new album, but amazon.com is stating that it should be released on Nov. 12 and that the new CD will have 2 DISCS. Since Mercury has not stated the official release date, it might be that the Nov. 12 date will be changed, but you can still pre-order the new Shania CD and show your support for Shania's music! :) The NEW double CD is listed at $19.98!
