First Things First. The reason Shania Twain waited over two years to start a concert tour is simple. She was waiting until she was already famous. To get there she let her radio hits, TV appearances and promotion and publicity get her ready for a tour. She told us, "The promotional side of what we do and the publicity side of what we do played a huge role I think in the success because there are a lot of people you can't reach through a concert tour unless you're already famous. This is what I believe and this is why I didn't tour right away. Because until you're famous you really don't get enough people at one time in one place to kind of pass the word on. You know? But when you are doing publicity and promotion whether it's print, radio or television, whatever it happens to be; you're reaching millions of people at one time. To me it was definitely worth the work. Then there are other times you have to dedicate more time to performance and then of course, there's always the time you absolutely have to write the material and record the music." That of course is what Shania is getting ready to do as she prepares to record her fourth album. (You can read this and Neil Haislop's complete daily Nashville Update at http://www.countrystars.com/news/haislop/n-update.html .) (Thanks Carrie!)

And Another Cover. This one is new to me, but it may not be new to you. Shania is on the cover of Country Music Live magazine.  You can order it online at http://www.countrymusiclive.com/ . (Thanks Marco!)

Shania Speaks Out. In the April 2000 issue of Country Song Roundup (see cover pic below), Shania speaks out regarding the cheap supermarket tabloids: "Nothing is true at all. I'm not qetting divorced; I'm very happily married. I'm not going back with my old boyfriend, and I've never had an affair with a married man." To read more, get the magazine on newsstands now. I'll have the text of the entire article here once the magazine is off the shelves. (Thanks to triciare for sending me the magazine!)

Vive la France! According to www.countryfr.com, Shania will be on TF1, the first French channel, this coming Friday on the show "Les annees tubes" between 20.55 and 22.00. However, all the previous times they announced her, they simply showed a pre-taped performance of MIFLAW, and this has been going on since her real first performance back in October. Fingers crossed! (Thanks Francesca!)

Deanna's On Shania's Side.In a recent appearance on the Crook and Chase show, Deanna Carter was asked her opinion about the state of country music today and, in particular, about the criticism that Shania Twain has sometimes been the target of.   Deanna had this to say: "So people try to tear her down. Say that she couldn't perform and that she doesn't write. And that it's all Mutt. Just crap. You know. And it's like I think she...I'm really happy to see her do well. Whether you are totally into every song she does or not. You know that's everybody's choice. But I'm happy to see her do well and disprove the critical stuff that goes on around here sometimes. I think that's great." You can read more of what Deanna had to say in the Fan Club Messageboard . (Thanks Manager82!)

Expensive Sweater. Shania's Antonio Berardi sweater that has been up for auction at VH-1 Auction for charity, sold for $6500.00 in furious down-to-the-last-minute bidding! A bid for $7800.00 was disallowed because it came after the auction was closed! Shania did a lot of good by donating her sweater. The money will be put to good use. (Thanks Brian and Wing!)

Who Is Shania Twain? That was one of the winning questions in Final Jeopardy today on Rock n Roll Jeopardy on VH-1. The answer was: "Two of only three women to sell more than 10 million copies of more than one album".  Besides Shania, the other two are Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.  All three contestants got the question wrong and none of them had Shania in their question! Dummies! They just haven't been paying attention I guess.

What A Sweetheart! For the second year in a row, the woman who most men would love to have serenade them and their valentine over dinner was...you guessed it...Shania! Need A Lift? In an article describing the Tennessee Titans amazing run of good fortune in getting to the Super Bowl this year, Larry Woods of The Tennessean wrote: "Could it be destiny? Are some things meant to be? Like winning the lottery? Like finding Shania Twain hitch-hiking on the interstate? Like getting to the Super Bowl?"  Well, the Titans luck ran out when the Rams won the game and I don't think I'll see Shania thumbing it anytime soon! (Thanks Carrie!)

Ciao Bella. Eros Ramazzotti, who is an Italian singer, songwriter and producer, very popular in Europe (he did a song with Tina Turner at the beginning of the 90's that helped her a lot to get more forcefully on the Italian, German, French and Spanish charts and also into the European music business market in general) has declared that on his next album (due out in March 2001) he will have 2 duets for sure: one with Lenny Kravitz and the other with Shania Twain. Super Bowl? It Just Doesn't Compare! Al Del Greco (Kicker for the Tennessee Titans) has been so impressed by the hoopla surrounding his first trip to a Super Bowl game that he likened the buildup to the first time he met country-western singer Shania Twain. "The expectation was even better than I thought," the Tennessee placekicker said. "When I met her, I was blown away. This experience is just like that." (Thanks Morris!)

More On Shania's Wish To Just Be Normal. "It's really, really funny, because a lot of times I go places and someone will walk up to me like they know me and start talking to me, and I actually forgot who I was 'cause I can't understand why they're talking to me. I don't know this person, and then I go, 'Oh my God -- of course!' Of course they know who I am, I guess. I mean, why else would they be talking to me?" You can read the full article, including more of Shania's comments at Countrystars.com .

Man! I Feel MORE Like A Woman! Sex? No big deal to Shania before Mutt. "After I married, life changed. I dug deeper into myself, really looked at myself and going wow, you know? I guess I was feeling more like a woman. I think for the very first time I felt the difference. I think up until a year or so before, sex didn't matter. The fact that I was a woman, didn't matter. Now for some reason, it matters.", said Shania on the subject. To read the full article, click here . (Thanks Chris!)

Shania and Dolly.  "The night Shania won Entertainer of the Year—that was her big night and there was all the controversy about her being accepted in country. Well, she mentioned my name and I was just knocked over. If I've done anything to help today's artists, it makes me proud in my heart.", said Dolly.  So, what happened? Have they met yet since Shania expressed her desire to meet Dolly while at the CMA's? To find out, just click here .

Almost 30% of them named it the top mainstream album, ahead of Mariah Carey’s #1s, and The Backstreet Boys’ Millennium., while 67% of country music fans gave it the top CD nod. Y107 . (Thanks Chris!)

Impressive. Shania's "That Don't Impress Me Much" was the most played song in the UK in 1999. TDIMM was played more than 46,000 times last year on UK radio!  Shania topped airplay for songs released by Britney Spears and Madonna! Read the article . (Thanks Carrie!)

AMA Poll. Countrycool.com has a poll that asks: On Monday, Shania won the AMA's Pop/Rock Vocalist and Country Vocalist awards. Which does she deserve? Merry Christmas! Yeah, that's right, Merry Christmas! I know it's a little early, but In the January  21/28, 2000 double issue of Entertainment Weekly, there is a preview of the Music, the movies, & TV that's coming up in 2000! The issue is called: "Our Guide To 2000"! It says: "Plan for a very Shania Christmas: Shania Twain's Xmas Album will likely be one of the season's biggest sellers. Twain is also one of several artists being considered to do the music for the big-screen version of The Grinch, starring Jim Carrey."

Bummer. Shania will not attend the AMA's. The good news is, this leaves open the possibility that she may appear at and even perform at the Grammys! The rules stipulate (for some reason) that an artist can not perform at both the AMA's and the Grammys, so Shania may be holding out for the Grammy Award show.   Let's hope so! Read more . Shania Stuff. Did you know that Shania and Billy Ray Cyrus share the same wedding anniversary date? Both were married to their spouses six years ago this past December 28th. So, happy anniversary to Shania and her husband, Robert John (Mutt) Lange, and to Billy Ray and his wife, Tish. (Thanks Carrie!)

More Shania Stuff. It doesn't happen very often but, it happened for Shania Twain in 1999. She had four singles land inside the top 20 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles Chart during the past calendar year. Typically, successful artists average only two or three top 20 singles within a year. Also, Shania's latest single, 'Rock This Country' is her tenth release from the same cd, 'Come On Over', a music industry record. canoe.com (Thanks Carrie!)

Dream House. This week's People Magazine (you remember them, don't you?) has this pic of Shania's house near Lake Placid, NY along with this description: "Country songbird Shania Twain hopes someone will come on over and purchase her plush Adirondack estate, on the market for $7.5 million. The 3,000-acre spread near Lake Placid, N.Y., has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and a three-story recording studio. And if, as the song goes, that don't impress you much, maybe the heated nine-stall stable, tennis court, private lake or breathtaking views of Cat Mountain will do the trick.  Shania and her husband, music producer Mutt Lange (who bought the place for $1.2 million in 1993), still own retreats in Florida and Switzerland where, of course, the twain shall meet." I'm sold! Where do I sign?

International Shania. Our good friends at Countrystars.com have a great article in Neil Haislop's section on Shania and her international achievements! Read the article ! (Thanks Carrie!)

It's Shania's World. News from CMT Pacific Rim's Top 12 countdown. Shania had two videos in the top 12. MIFLAW at number 6 and TDIMM at number 2. She was also named Female Video Artist of the Year. Shania is the most requested artist on the CMT Pacific Rim Network! (Thanks Ann!)

Shania's Success. Sonic.net has a great article that goes into some detail about the unprecedented success of Come On Over. The article includes comments by various radio D.J.'s! Definitely worth a read! Read the article . (Thanks Carrie!)

Billboard Reviews "RTC". "Rock This Country'' (3:59)< Mercury  This is the 10th single from Twain's phenomenal-selling ``Come On Over'' album. Each of her previous outings has gone top 10, with the exception of the last single, ``You've Got A Way,'' which peaked at No. 13. Like many of its predecessors, this record combines high-energy, go-for-the-throat production and Twain's sassy delivery. Lyrically, there's not much to applaud, but what the song lacks in depth, Twain makes up for in attitude. It pushes all the buttons that should make it a natural for today's young country audience - a sing-along chorus, good-time lyric, and feisty beat. It's a rollicking, fiddle-laced number that should become a weekend anthem for this generation of urban cowboys. In the wake of her holiday TV special and consistently high level of exposure, Shania mania continues, and this single looks sure to be another hit in her sparkly parade. (Thanks Carrie!)

Danke Schön. "That Don't Impress Me Much'' by Shania Twain received an unprecedented 1,000 spins in seven days on German radio. No other song in the history of German radio has received that many rotations in a week. Read the article . (Thanks Carrie!)

Another Country Weekly Cover. Shania is on the cover of the January 25, 2000 issue of Country Weekly magazine! Inside is a wonderful article entitled "Angel of Mercy" about her ongoing crusade to feed hungry children!  (A cause that our Fan Club raised $2,250.00 toward a few months ago!) I'll have the full article up as soon as possible.

VCR Alert! CMT Canada will be adding Shania's latest video "Rock This Country" to it's playlist. You can find it on the Screening Room on Monday, January 10 at 8 PM! (Thanks Fabienne!)

Thriller! Shania Twain's 10th single release from Come On Over might never be equaled. The 10th, "Rock This Country," didn't actually set a record, Shania did that when she released her 9th chart single, "Come On Over," surpassing both Michael Jackson (8 singles from Thriller) and Janet Jackson (8 singles from Rhythm Nation). Of the 9 top forty singles from Come On Over, 8 took Shania into the top ten! Read the full article. (Thanks Carrie!)

Shania's New Year. I heard that Shania and Mutt spent a quiet New Year at home in Switzerland outside by a crackling camp fire! Sounds like the perfect way to bring in the New Year and the new Millenium! Here's wishing you and yours the best New Year ever! May the start of this new Millenium bring peace, love and happiness to all the people of this earth. And, as Shania would be quick to point out, God bless the Child who suffers. One of the highlights of 1999 for me, was the way the members of this fan club reached into their pockets to help feed hungry children. The only other country female to enjoy at least six top 20 hits from one album was Mary Chapin Carpenter, with her album "Come On, Come On." Ripol says it seems "Come On" is the operative phrase for country female seeking singular success! Read more . (Thanks Carrie!)

Shania/George Jones Duet? In an interview for country radio, George Jones spoke about the possibility of him doing an upcoming duet with Shania Twain.  (Can't let Merle Haggard & Jewel get all the attention, you know!) Stay tuned for more news as soon as it's available. (Thanks Carrie!)

Need A Rx Filled? Think of any reason, but get to your local Eckerd or CVS.  Revlon has just sent them some awesome posters, stand-ups etc. with Shania looking lovely as usual while wearing their new Crystal Reflections Nail Enamels & Lipsticks! I talked the manager of my local Eckerd into giving me a poster (which will be promptly scanned and appear here!)

Click for larger version. For REALLY large version, go to Shania Scans Vol. 2.

CBS Shania Site. Shania has her own little site at CBS' website! Looks like it's been put up there in conjunction with her upcoming Thanksgiving Day special: "Shania Twain's Come On Over".   You can even download desktop wallpapers! (Looks like I've got competition! You be the judge.) To get em, go here . (Thanks Carrie!)

Tube Time. Look for Shania in an upcoming 1/2 hour episode of CMT's new show called, "Face The Music". The show takes a look at what happens "behind the scenes" at the making of music videos. Should be pretty cool. The show airs this Saturday morning (Nov 6) at 10:30 AM EST (9:30 Central). No word yet when the episode Shania appears in will air. I'll keep you posted. (Thanks Brian.)

More on COO Remix CD. What is being referred to as the "International Version" (this is getting confusing...I've had the "International Version" of Come On Over for two years now)..."will feature remixes of 15 of the album's 16 songs — four pop remixes previously released in the UK ("From This Moment On," "That Don't Impress Me Much," "You're Still the One" and "You've Got a Way") and new mixes of 11 others." To read more, follow this here link . Watch for it on Nov. 23. (Think we'd better stick to calling it The Remix CD.)

Shania A Mother? Could be happening in the near future. Shania reveals her wish to have a family and that she had gotten depressed while on tour this past year in her new article in Redbook Magazine. (Due on newsstands Nov. 9.) She seems to be feeling much better since getting off the road and spending some time at home with Mutt. You can read some excerpts from the article right here .

Happy Anniversary COO! Today marks the second anniversary of the release of Come On Over! I remember that day so well! I drove so fast to the mall to be one of the first to get it, then (after fighting with the plastic CD wrapper) listened to it all the way home! It's still as fresh today as it was two years ago. Time flies. (Thanks for the reminder Brian!)

Shania on ET. Shania made a brief appearance on ET tonight. In the short interview, Shania addressed the rumors that had been circulating about her supposed marital problems.  Viscious rumors! (Thanks Carrie!)

It Does A Body Good. In an article, very similar to the Daily Telegraph article posted yesterday, Shania talks about the product she uses on her face: the same product farmers apply to a cow's teats to keep them nice and soft! You see, Shania doesn't like to spend alot of money on makeup it turns out. To read why, click here . (Thanks Carrie!)

No Deal. I had reported here earlier in the week that an apparent deal had been struck between Shania and JoMato Records, LLC. I was in error to make such a statement and assumed this due to the statement made by JoMato Records on their website that proceeds would benefit certain children's foundations. (A nice gesture on their part.) My sources assure me that "Beginnings" is not being supported by Shania at this time in any way. Therefore, I have removed the link to buy the CD from this webpage.

COO Remixed. The highly anticipated remix CD is close to release and will include pop radio versions of several songs including: You've Got A Way, among others. To read more about it, click here . To order the CD, click here . (Thanks Carrie!)

Win Tickets To See Shania! Young-country 105.3 FM are giving away tickets to see Shania perform at Texas Stadium on November 14th! Click here to find out how you can win! Good luck!

Daily Telegraph Interview. A new Shania interview appeared in yesterday's Daily Telegraph in the UK. To read it, click here . (Thanks to Phil Beddoe of STIOFC).

Shania in Playboy. All right, calm down everybody! She's fully clothed in the picture! In the December 1999 issue, Playboy names their Sex Stars of 1999.  Shania is #7 on the list! The article goes on to ask: "Here's the question of the century: Would Shania Twain look sexy if she took off  her clothes? We'll never know. She makes us long for the days when country stars teased their hair, not their audience. While Twain's sex-laden videos give us hope, her husband is some kind of mastermind producer who is probably not into sharing."

No Early Show. Well, that was a waste of two hours! With the possibility of a hastily arranged appearance by Shania to bail out CBS' new morning show as the draw, many of us (myself included) tuned in to  the inaugural show, only to be disappointed. Not only didn't Shania appear...nobody appeared! No Mariah Carey. No Celine Dion. No Shania.

Another Vote For Shania. Click over to Young Country KYNG 's website and vote for Shania. Their poll asks who is the better entertainer, George Strait or Shania? No contest! (Don't tell anybody, but you can vote as many times as you like! Shhhhh!) Fill it up for Shania! (Thanks John!)

Beginnings...A Deal? Evidently, Shania and JoMato Records have come to an agreement. JoMato Records, LLC are offering "Beginnings" for order at their website with the following statement: "A significant portion of the proceeds from this recording has been designated as a donation to the Make A Wish Foundation and Kid's Cafe Second Harvest charities." (Thanks Carm!)

More Legal Stuff. For some updated info on the latest on the "On The Way" or "Beginnings" tracks... click here . (Thanks Osa!)

Celine's Backup? Celine Dion fans on AOL are posting the news that Shania does indeed provide the background vocals on Celine's new song "If Walls Could Talk", which was written by Shania and Mutt and appears on Celines' new album, "All The Way" which is to be released in about 3 weeks. (Thanks Carm!)

Vote For Shania. Glamour Magazine is currently conducting a poll for the "Women of 2000". Vote for Shania as the " Female Gutsy  Leader". Shania is nominated along with other females like Hillary Clinton and Julia Roberts. (Thanks Carrie!)

Shania On The Tube...Maybe. A new CBS TV show, "Early Show" had negotiated Mariah Carey to perform it's inaugural show this coming Monday (Nov. 1) in a live outdoor street performance. For one reason or another, Mariah has cancelled. CBS is trying to get either Shania or Celine Dion instead. Keep 'em crossed for Shania! (Thanks Chris!)

Shania Ties Chicks. The First Annual WB Radio Music Awards winners were announced yesterday. Shania tied with the Dixie Chick for Artist of the Year in the Country/Young Country category. Congratulations Shania! (Thanks Carrie!)

Heating Up. The battle over the release of Shania's early body of work, entitled "On The Way" or "Beginnings" (depending on which group you are referring to) is heating up! To read about it, click here . (Thanks Carrie!)

Shania InStyle. Shania is featured in the next issue of InStyle Magazine which should have hit newsstands today! Shania Twain’s secrets will be unveiled in the new issue. Her designer, Marc Bouwer, gives a behind the scenes look on Shania’s glamorous image. (Thanks Carrie!)

Remix CD. Looks like the rumoured Come On Over remix CD is soon to be released. Many of the online music sites, including cdnow.com and buymusic.com, show a new version of Come On Over to be released on November 23rd.  You can pre-order now, so come and get it! (Thanks Chris, who first posted the news in the STNAOFC messageboard.)

Missed Opportunity. One of the most amazing things to come out of the details concerning Shania's body of early work, entitled "Beginnings" or "On The Way" (depending on which version you are referring to) is that A&M Records actually had a chance to sign Shania to a record deal and passed on her! Speaking of A&M, Shania's co-writer on the songs, Paul Sabu says, "It kind of progressed. She was great and A&M really liked her and wanted to do a record." Makes you wonder what in the world happened that they didn't get it done.-bmac

Shania Interview, Part 2. You can read Part 2 of Countrycool.com's interview with Shania by clicking here . In the interview, Shania talks about being home for Christmas with family.  Hazle (the interviewer) brings to light the extraordinary efforts Shania made on her own to visit the victims of the Columbine High School massacre. (Thanks Carrie!)

Workaholic. In the November 2nd edition of the National Enquirer, they've compiled a list of how the stars beat stress.  How does Shania deal with it? "When I'm at home, I clean the stable, do the laundry. I love to be in the kitchen -- that and the stable are my two favorite places," said the chart-topping beauty. (Thanks Carrie!)

Chart Topper...Shania reigns high at #1 on the UK country music chart and the overall music chart, which includes all music categories. Thanks Carrie!

Legal Brief. In a statement from Jon Landau Management, the possibility of legal action against musicmaker.com, who put Shania's pre-Shania Twain recordings on the internet in mp3 format without notification, and the producers of "On The Way" (pretty much the same recordings; different parties responsible), is left open as a distinct possibility.  To read more, including details on how these recordings came to be in the first place, click here . (Thanks Bailey!)

Dallas Update. The only way to see Shania in concert at Texas Stadium is if you hold a ticket to the Cowboys/Packers football game or get lucky and win tickets from the many Dallas-area radio stations that are giving away floor seats to the show. The game is a sellout, so good luck! (Thanks Monica.)

Early Shania. musicmaker.com   today announced that it will offer free downloads of early recordings by country music sensation Shania Twain through October 30.  These early recordings, which were made in 1989 and 1990, offer a rare glimpse into the early development of the artist who at that time billed herself as "Eileen Shania Twain." (Thanks Carrie!)

Fans can download, free of charge, music from this period in Twain's development when she was experimenting with driving arena rock rhythms, rockin' country, pop melodies and mainstream dance music.  The tracks will be available for download in both the MP3 and Windows Media Audio formats.
Recorded in Canada, "Beginnings" (1989-1990) predates even Twain's earliest Nashville demos.

Clinton Mentions Shania In Speech. When The President spoke at the opening of a new US embassy in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, he mentioned Shania in his speech: "The United States and Canada have benefitted from sharing our continent. We, in particular, have learned from you -- a parliamentary democracy with two official languages, many distinct cultures, an inspiring commitment to social justice and solidarity. Our culture is richer, much richer, for the writings of Robertson Davies, the photographs of Jousuf Karsh, the magnificent music of Oscar Peterson -- and for those of us who are country music fans, we were thrilled when Shania Twain was named the "Country Music Star of the Year."  Obviously, this means that Jay Leno was wrong when he said Clinton called Shania up and invited her to the White House...Clinton did know after all that she had won an award! :-) (Thanks Morris!)

A Plea From Across The Pond. The BBC refuses to put out a dedicated country radio station! Instead jazz and classical get the slots EVEN though country is fast becoming the second best selling genre in the UK (ranking over Indie, and Rock) We can help to change some minds though by writing to this address and simply saying:

Campaign To Get Country Radio In The UK "Get off yer arse and give us dedicated Country Radio!" Write to the following address and help Shania and her fans in Great Britain. After all, look at all they've done for us! I'm writing this in English, am I not? :-)  Here's the address: (Thanks Peter!)

Studious Shania.  In the August, 1999 issue of Country Weekly (lead story "Before They Were Stars"), there is a short article on Shania on page 21 of the issue!  The article is, of course, talking about Shania before she became a star! The articles comes with 2 photos of Shania! One photo is a black & white photo of Shania from when she was in high school or something (she has bad teeth in the photo)! The second photo is of Shania wearing a black, sleeveless dress! (I think the photo is a publicity shot from when she did her second album, The Woman In Me!) Here's the article that comes with the photos: Believe it or not, Shania - Eileen Twain as she was known then - was not the most glamorous or most popular girl in her class of '83 at Timmins (Ont.) High.  "I used to be very shy about my body," she remembers.  "I didn't want to be seen as a girl.  I was a tomboy and I wanted to stay a tomboy."

"When I was very young I met this girl; she was an athlete and very muscular and masculine.  I told my mom, 'That's the kind of girl I want to be,' and my mother was horrified.  She was like, 'No, no, surely you want to curl your hair and wear dresses,' and I said, 'No - I want to be strong and independent.' " The super-shy Shania didn't dress then like she does now.

"I saw at school that if you had breasts and you bounced and you were feminine, that everyone paid attention only to that.  I hated that," explains Shania.  "I would wear loose clothing to completely hide my body."   Doreen Yakabuski, Shania's 12th grade English teacher at Timmins High, said if work ethic was any indication, she knew Shania would become a star.  "She sang sometimes two or three nights a week and would come to class the next day tired," Doreen recalls.  "But she would always make a point of getting the work from a previous class or get the work ahead of time, and made sure it was done and hand it in."

"She was a conscientious student, although music was the love of her life more than English literature."   "I'm surprised I graduated," comments Shania.  "I missed a lot of school sneaking off into the music room to write songs.  They had these soundproof cubicles.  Nobody knew what I was doing.  I'd go back there and sometimes stay through two or three classes." (Thanks Carrie!)

Shania To Perform At CMA's!   "The 33rd Annual CMA Awards" will include performances by some of the biggest and brightest names in Country Music, including all-time top-selling female artist Shania Twain, who will be performing "Come On Over". Living legend Merle Haggard will debut his new duet paired with one of pop's hottest stars Jewel. Also slated to perform are four of this year's Horizon nominees - Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans, the Wilkinsons and Chely Wright. The three-hour gala event will be telecast live on the CBS Television Network Wednesday, September 22 at 8 p.m. (EDT) from the Grand Ole Opry House.

Nominated for the highly coveted Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year, Shania Twain will perform the title track of her current multi-platinum album COME ON OVER. The album has sold over 12 million copies, making it the third best-selling album ever released by a female solo artist. Twain's three albums have sold millions of copies worldwide, making Twain the first female artist to achieve back-to-back RIAA Diamond Record status. (Thanks Carrie!)

Lucky Fellow. Shane Minor got to tour with Shania for a good part of her 1999 tour. He had some nice things to say about her including: "She became like a big sister to me. I learned a lot from watching her. She's great with her fans."  "I can't say enough great things about her. She really helped me get my career off to a good start and I owe her for that," says Minor. To read more things that Shane has said about Shania, go here or read about it in the August 31 isssue of Country Weekly. (Thanks Carrie!)

Another Record For Shania?   At the 80-week mark, Shania Twain's "You're Still The One'' is just a week away from matching Eric Clapton's 81-week run on the Adult Contemporary chart with "Change The World.'' Clapton, however, is no longer the longevity leader when it comes to AC. Australian duo Savage Garden has the longest AC run of all time with ``Truly, Madly, Deeply'' (Columbia), which only dips to No. 12 in its 84th chart week. That's just 20 weeks shy of two years, a mark Savage Garden could easily reach given the slow decline of this former No. 1. (Thanks Carrie!)

New Award Nomination. The WB Network has a new award show: The WB Radio Music Awards.  Shania has been nominated for Artist of the Year in the Country/Young Country category.  Congratulations Shania! To read more about it go here . (Thanks Carrie!)

Revlon TV Commercial Play-By-Play. The commercial starts w/ a shot of Shania beginning to sing the song (Man! I Feel Like A Woman!)!  The camera then shows Shania blowing a stream of lipstick/lipcolor stuff, which is, of course, done by computer generated special effects (You HAVE to see the commercial to know what I am talking about)!  Then, the camera pans off to models that are selling the cosmetics (w/ Shania's single playing in the background) & then, the commercial ends w/ a shot of Shania singing the single (while holding a modern microphone to the side, while standing w/ her knees bent--like at the Grammys)! During the whole commercial, Shania is wearing that black outfit that she wore during the Grammys (including the top hat)! She does not wear that man's shirt like she wore in the video! The commercial features a couple up-close facial shots of Shania!  It's in regular play now on several networks during the daytime hours. Watch for it! (Thanks Carrie!)

Bathing Beauty. As Shania revealed in her FHM interview, she likes to walk around the house naked after a bath. TV Guide Online picks up the story and tells it here .
