UP! Remains the #1 Album on the Charts!  Shania Twain's new album UP! dominates the charts in North America for the fourth week in a row. UP! has been certified Platinum in the UK and in Canada already, as well as twice Platinum in the US: and this only in a 4 week period! This past week, holding off new releases, UP! has sold 373,000 copies in the US and 91,500 in Canada: once again #1 album in North America! (Thanks Jud, from the STNAOFC Messageboard!)

UP! Shania Twain's Guide to Life VH1 Article!  The VH1 website has posted a new article/interview on Shania and her music. "Shania Twain's Guide to Life" by Paulina Williams & C. Bottomley has great answers from Shania to new questions: "Judging from the success of Shania Twain's fourth album Up!, a lot of people are going to be humming along to "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" come Christmas morning. After a month in the retail racks, Up! is still holding onto the peak spot in the album charts, having toppled Eminem and staved off competition from Tim McGraw and Mariah Carey. With almost two million copies sold so far, Twain's unique blend of cheeky lyrics, country-pop and exclamation points is as popular as it was on 1995's The Woman in Me and 1997's Come on Over, both of which moved enough CDs to fill every silo from Nashville to Bakersfield." UP! Dominates Charts Third week TOO!  Right after having been certified Platinum in Europe with 1 Million copies sold by the IFPI, UP! has showed once again, for the third week in a row, that it is the #1 album in North America! In its third week at the top in Canada UP! sold 75,700 copies and another 317,000 copies in the US! (Thanks Jud and detfan, from the STNAOFC Messageboard!)

Shania Twain:In Her Own Words! The VH1 channel in the US has just started showing a new Shania special titled: "Shania Twain: In Her Own Words" which includes lots of new material in the form of a documentary shot by Shania herself and pieces of new interviews that took place during the promotion of Shania's new album UP!. A GREAT Shania Show: A HUGE Thanks to VH1 for having produced a great special on Shania that the fans  do not want to miss for sure! Shania In Spain! On December 9 Shania Twain has visited the show "Operiaciòn Triunfo"  in Spain (on the channel TVE). This TV show is the Spanish version of other Star Académy shows present at the moment on other European channels. Karen Schneider and Natasha Stoynoff have written a great and well researched article on Shania who "emerges from her Swiss hideaway and swings back into action with a new CD, a new baby and a new attitude." TIME Mag on Shania! The TIME magazine issue of December 9, 2002  has an article on Shania titled "Shania Reigns. Shania Twain aims to sell more records than anyone in history — and she just may" written by Josh Tyrangiel. "Like all great cheap thrills, Up! is shamelessly produced and guiltlessly enjoyed; it's easily the best pop album of the year. The contagious first single, I'm Gonna Getcha Good ("I'm gonna getcha while I gotcha you in sight/I'm gonna getcha if it takes all night"), is less a love song than Twain's declaration of intent to consumers, while Up!'s 18 other tracks back her claim with the kind of energy that reminds you how much fun the genre can be." Shania Sings at Grey Cup! Shania Twain sang two songs during the half time of the 2002 Grey Cup in Edmonton! The CBC channel had also an interview with Shania before the start of the game: Shania dressed in a warm yellow jacket and a red hat, she sang: "UP!" and "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!." There is also a great article on Shania based upon a new interview: "I specifically enjoy writing lyrics that are very matter of fact, and very realistic. I have a lyric in one of my songs called "What a Way To Wanna Be" and it says." I don't want to wear that/it only makes me look fat/time to tone my thighs/gotta lose another size yeah what a way to wanna be." And we've all experienced that. CD Record in Timmins! The sales for UP! has set a record already in Timmins, Shania's hometown! An article titled "Sales of Shania Twain's new CD are going Up! Up! Up!" published in the Timmins Daily Press reported: "Two of four locations carrying the Timmins-born country singing sensation's CDs are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of more stock to replenish their shelves.

UP! Release Party at Shania Centre! The Shania Twain Centre had an official release party for Shania's new album on November 18: Timmins radio station EZRock has organized a CD release party at the Shania Centre on Monday night where 99 lucky winners got a free copy of "Up!", a free tour of the centre, and were treated to some refreshments! But the lucky people were also the first ones to see a new outfit on display in the lobby of the Shania Twain Centre...guess which outfit...yep the 2002 CMAs Outfit is already there on display as shown here on the left! The Shania Centre was again the Shania Place to be in Timmins on November 19: EZRock aired from the Centre all day long, and over 400 copies of the new CD were sold in one day! The Timmins Daily Press website has posted an article on the release day at the Centre: "Timmins getting Shania good. By Debbie Pell  Local News - Shania mania is the only way to describe the pace of sales for Shania's new CD Up!, released Tuesday.
While sales were well over the 300 mark by day's end at the Shania Twain Centre, and more than 100 at AVE Entertainment in the Timmins Square, both Zellers and Wal-Mart sold out their entire stock. Diane Lapointe, store manager for AVE entertainment, described sales as unprecedented. "I've never seen a big seller like this in one day and I've been here for 22 years," said Lapointe." UP! is Home Made. Countrystars.com has revealed that Shania's new album is really "Home Made": TWAIN ON EVE OF RELEASING HER "HOME-GROWN" NEW ALBUM. For nearly three weeks now, Shania Twain has been talking about all the aspects of her new album UP!, When it hits retail stores tomorrow, Shania tells us one of the things she's proudest of is that she's delivering to country fans a "real" album, no techno-synthesized magic, just a consistent, live-recorded album. "The quality of the record comes from the fact that it's not a programmed record. It's all real musicians; it's just very real. Mutt plays a lot on the record, it's all our vocals…it's a home-grown, hand-made record." The record is so home-grown that there are no outside, or guest harmony vocals. Looking UP to New Singles! Countrynation.com has reported that Universal Canada has already shipped 400,000 copies of UP! in Canada: another record! "Things are looking Up! Shania Twain's new album, Up!, has been shipped four-times platinum in Canada -- 400,000 copies -- leading up to it's Tuesday release, reports the Toronto Sun. The album has to sell a lot. The video for the first single, "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!," cost a cool 1-million dollars to produce, according to Entertainment Weekly."
Countrynation has also reported that Shania may have chosen the next single to be released: the country (green) version of the single "UP!" will go to country radio stations, whereas the red (pop) version of the single "I'm Not in the Mood To Say No" will go to pop stations!

The Timmins Daily Press has posted an article on Shania's new single "I'm Gonna Getcha (Good)" being for sale in Timmins: the Shania Twain Centre has also been selling the new single: "It's here! And it's red hot! International country music superstar Shania Twain launched her single Tuesday, and it can now be found at select locations throughout Timmins. "This CD is really worth listening to because of Shania's very unique and catchy style," said Tracy Hautanen, customer service manager for the Shania Twain Centre. Already a New Record for Shania: 4.1 M! According to an article posted on countrystars.com, Shania Twain's record label has already shipped out 4.1 million units of her new CD UP! to retailers in the US! This is the largest number of CDs ever shipped for the first week of sales by Mercury/Universal! Congrats Shania! Go buy the new CD the first week: it comes out in Europe on Nov. 18 and in North America on Nov. 19! Let's make Shania #1 EVERYWHERE!
Countrystars.com also reveals that Shania is not affected by her wealth: "Selling millions more copies of her 4th album will exponentially increase Shania's already huge fortune, so we asked her if she ever wakes up in a cold sweat worrying about being poor and hungry as she was in her youth? "You know, it's been a very long slow road because I started so young. It's been spread over such a long period of time, it didn't happen over night …so I think I've just grown with it, "Shania reasons. "Of course I do pinch myself and say 'wow this is incredible what happened to me in my life,' but I don't really feel connected with all that, I still feel so real and so me that I just don't get overwhelmed by it (the new wealth). I just still feel very real, just another day and I'm not affected really."
