FAFA First #1! Shania's single "Forever and For Always" has reached #1 on the Adult Conteporary radio charts making it the first #1 single from the album "UP!" According to Billboard: "It's Twain's first turn at No. 1 since 1998, when "From This Moment On" spent a lone week heading the list. Twain is the first Canadian artist to dominate the AC chart since August 2002, when Celine Dion (news) completed what was then a record-setting 21-week reign with "A New Day Has Come." Shania Comforts Toby... Toby Keith was nominated for 7 awards at the 2003 CMAs but got home with nothing. Shania Twain, who started her career with Mercury Nashville together with Toby, made the point of comforting him according to Countrystars.com: "Toby told us that Shania Twain made a point to seek him out for an extended conversation. "Here she is, completely ignored by the CMA this year, and yet there she was singing on the show. Then she seeks me out to talk. We talked about a lot of things, she asked about my family, and things that are really important. She's just a class act," Toby said of the woman he feels shouldn't have been passed over by the CMA." Shania Gives Great Ratings to CMAs! Shania Twain's participation to the 2003 CMA Awards Show gave CBS a real boost in the ratings according to an article posted at variety.com: "Boosting the ratings for "CMAs" were a special tribute to the late Johnny Cash (a posthumous winner in several categories) and a performance by Shania Twain -- both in the second half of the kudocast. The 18-49 rating from 9:30 to 11 (6.5) was 10% higher than last year's 5.9." I think CBS knew this all along! (Thanks to Jud, from the STNAOFC Messageboard!)

Great Tickets Sales for Shania! According to an online ticketing report, Shania's tour is one of the hot one around: "Ticketing revenue increased 10% to $178 million from $162 million in the prior year period, driven by a 7% increase in revenue per ticket and a 4% increase in the number of tickets sold. Ticket sales benefited from strong concert sales for Simon & Garfunkel, John Mayer, The Eagles, Shania Twain and Bruce Springsteen. Sales in Canada also grew faster than anticipated." Shania's NEW TV Special: TAPED! On Nov. 3 Shania Twain has taped her new TV Special for NBC in Nashville with Alison Krauss and the Union Station. The Special, which is scheduled to air on Nov. 26, is quite different from Shania's previous ones. Here is a synopsis from Countrystars.com: "Shania Twain: Up! Close and Personal is the title of her NBC Special that she taped in Nashville this week. The special will feature Shania in a very intimate setting, with a crowd of about 300, and with Alison Krauss and Union Station as her band and backing vocals. She looked great, wearing a black, leather, long-sleeved jumpsuit with a wide rhinestone belt and matching rhinestone, collar-like choker. Shania must have been very comfortable in the intimate setting. Between songs and when the cameras weren't rolling she talked about very random and offbeat topics including women getting hairy like gorillas during the winter when they don't shave, cellulite, burning a hole in a leather purse with vodka, sucking and spitting snot and other tasty topics." Shania on CBS "48 Hours"! Shania Twain was interviewed by "48 Hours" for a CBS investigation on country music in the US. Billboard Music Awards for Shania! Shania will be attending the Billboard Music Awards show in Las Vegas on December 10. You can attend too by buying your ticket: "Seats cost $40, $75 and $175.

"When You Kiss Me" Video Premieres! CMT US has aired a new version of the show "CMT Shania Stacked" with 5 new Shania videos: the performance only version of "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" and "Forever and For Always," as well as the blue version of "UP!." The channel then showed two new videos for North America: "Thank You, Baby!" which was shot in Vancouver and aired already in Europe, and premiered "When You Kiss Me": a black and white video shot in New Zealand: FANTASTIC! Shania: BIG in 2003. The Miami Herald has announced that Shania Twain will be performing at the "VH1 Big in 2003" show that will take place in Los Angeles on November 30: "NEW YORK - Shania Twain will be among the performers at the "VH1 Big in 2003" awards show - if you can call it an awards show.

Shania has had her first sellouts in the tour:  "The first date of Shania Twain's worldwide "UP!" tour, set an all-time record at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario last week, with an attendance of 18,573 and a record-setting gross of $1,282,984 (USD). 
Twain followed her opening night success with a sell-out crowd in Ottawa, Ontario, where she grossed $1,195,587 (USD), exceeding the Dixie Chicks."
