Shania to Go to 2004 Flameworthy Awards Show! CMT.com has announced that Shania Twain will perform at the 2004 Flameworthy Awards show in Nashville on April 21! Dolly parton will host the event. "The incomparable Dolly Parton will be at the helm as CMT telecasts country music's only video music awards -- and only fan-voted awards show -- the CMT Flameworthy 2004 Video Music Awards. Parton will host the awards show live from Nashville on Wednesday, April 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CMT. Shania Auction for St. Jude! The radio station WMZQ in Washington, DC is auctioning an autographed music sheet of "Forever and For Always" (shown here to the left) to help St. Jude Hospital in Nashville. "It features a music sheet for Shania's hit song, 'Forever And For Always,' and both American versions (red and green) of Shania's 'Up!' CD. The lyrics are signed in the center, and the lyric sheet and CDs are all housed in a glass front frame measuring approximately 22"x27." This auction is part of the annual St Jude Charity Auction, hosted by Washington-DC Country Radio station WMZQ. All net proceeds will benefit St Jude Children's Research Hospital". 71% of Mercury! Countrystars.com has posted an article on the relationship between sales and artists for major record labels. Shania twain represents 71% of Mercury Nashville's sales! "Rascal Flatts was responsible for 100% of Lyric Street's Top 100 unit sales. Shania provided 71% for Mercury. Alan Jackson scanned 62% for Arista. And the Dixie Chicks floated 60% of the Sony boat." Shania at the Movies? According to an article posted at Countryweekly Online, Shania Twain has played a small part in a movie that will come out later this year. "Shania will make her movie debut with a cameo role in the upcoming film "I Love Huckabee's," starring Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin, Catherine Deneuve, Jude Law, Naomi Watts, Mark Wahlberg and Jason Schwartzman. I Love Huckabee's is a love story about a married couple - Hoffman and Tomlin -- who work as detectives, helping people solve crises in their lives. The romantic comedy was filmed between June and September in Los Angeles on a $20 million budget and should open sometime in 2004." Thank you Brian for the info!

NEW Shania Magazine Cover! Shania Twain is on the cover of the Canadian magazine "Professional Lighting and Production." The November 2003 issue of the magazine has an article titled "Shania Twain Lights 'UP!'" by Brad Trenaman that discusses the lights and pyrotechnics for her current tour show: "Shania Twain hit the road in support of her latest album, Up!, this fall featuring a stage designed by Mark Fisher that allowed her to get closer to her fans than ever before. UP! At Number 3! According to an article at Billboard.com, Shania's album "UP!" ranks at # 3 overall based upon sales in 2003 in the US! Great Quotes from ED! The Canadian group Emerson Drive has been opening for Shania on most of her fall tour concerts in North America. The guys from the band have been talking a little bit during an interview with the "Calgary Sun" about what it is like to open for Shania on her sold out tour: "Not only is the gig a dream-come- true, being backstage also rocks. “The catering backstage is amazing. SUPER Shania: UP!Close and Really Personal! On Nov. 25 NBC in the US and CBC in Canada aired the new TV Special Shania taped in Nashville titled: "UP!Close and Personal!" Shania sang 12 songs with Alison Krauss and the Union Station as her backing band, this was an awesome show that had new, more intimate versions of the songs. Shania's vocal performance was perfect and touching, "Ain't Going Down" and "Forever and For Always" turned out FANTASTIC in the new country versions! Since Shania was inspired by the Elvis TV Special of the late 1960s, wearing a black leather jumpsuit, on a stage in the round and in front of a small audience, Shania ended the Special with a rocking song: a new version of "You Shook Me All Night Long", with Shania's own lyrics! CBC To Make Shania Movie! The CBC website has announced plans to develop and shoot a movie titled "Shania" based on Shania Twain life. "The CBC announced plans today to make a movie based on the life of singer Shania Twain.
Called Shania, the movie of the week will air next season. It will chronicle her rise from small-town obscurity to superstar status. It will be based on Robin Eggar's Twain biography and will be executive produced by Laszlo Barna, whose credits include DaVinci's Inquest and The David Milgaard Story.
