Shania in Adopt-A-Minefield Auction! Shania Twain has donated an item to the Paul McCartney and Heather Mills McCartney's "Adopt-A-Minefield Charity Auction" that will help the Adopt-A-Minefield® program of the United Nations Association of the USA. Billy Talks About Video with Shania! Countrystars.com has posted an article on Billy Currington's work with Shania on her new single "Party For Two." "Mutt and Shania couldn't have been sweeter to me. We sang the song through 6 or 7 times, they said it was great...and I turned right back around and was back on a plane to the U.S."
Billy says within a few days he was back on a plane again, headed to London, this time for a two-day video shoot for "Party For Two." "We filmed 17 hours one day and 24 hours the next. And I tell you, Shania is so smart and really knows what she wants," Currington observed." ETalk's Shania Interview! CTV's show "eTalk Daily" is showing this week parts of an interview Ben Mulroney did with Shania in Switzerland recently. Shania talked about hockey, the show Canadian Idol, her favorite TV show, and the new video she did with Billy Currington. Sep. 25: Shania Interview on CMT Insider! The September 25 episode of "CMT Insider" with Katie Cook will show a preview of an interview with Shania that has been taped in Switzerland. Katie Cook went to Switzerland to interview Shania and talk about her new video for "Party for Two" and the upcoming Greatest Hits CD. The show airs at 1 PM ET on CMT US and will repeat throughout the coming week. Shania Wins One CCMA. The Canadian Country Music Association awards show handed Shania one award on September 13. Shania won for "Country Music Program or Special of the Year" for the "UP! Close and Personal Special" that aired last November. Cory Churko, Shania's fiddle player, was also selected for the all-star band. Congratulations to Shania and Cory! Shania's Band to Promote with Her! Randall Waller and Cory Churko, two members of Shania's band, have announced that they wil be promoting with Shania this fall in North America. Shania to Promote in Germany! Shania Twain and Billy Currington will participate to the October 2nd episode of the German TV show "Wetten, Dass...?" from Berlin, Germany. Actress Chosen to Play Shania! Meredith Henderson, a Canadian actress known to TV viewers in Canada for The Adventures of Shirley Holmes, will play the role of "Shania" in the special CBC TV movie on Shania's early years. According to an article posted at canoe.ca: ""She commands the camera and, can she sing? Yes!" said director Jerry Ciccoritti, who has just returned from checking out locations for shooting in the northern Ontario communities of Sudbury, Huntsville and Timmins.

Jimmy Carter, a well known veteran TV and radio personality from Nashville, has expressed clearly the disgust many Shania fans have with regards to the CMA's decision about the nominations this year: they just forgot about Shania.....but they seem to use her name a lot to attract audience to the awards show. "The snubbing of Shania: Again no nominations and if the CMA voters don’t think she has one of the top five shows of the year then fine. It’s their view. But, what a major hypocrisy, if in the same breath you announce she is the first performer invited to perform. The Music Row bosses and voters will use Shania to get a show rating but will not show her the respect of even a nomination. In the words of the Riders in the Sky, It’s not the cowboy way!" New Video - Sneak Peak! The "Extra! Extra!" show has announced that Mark McGrath will become their new co-host starting from September 13. According to Contactmusic.com: "SUGAR RAY star MARK McGRATH is set to put his musical career on hold to front entertainment news show EXTRA.
The rocker will join regular host DAYNA DEVON on the daily show on 13 September (04). McGrath says, "It's sort of a dream job."

NEW Video -  First Photos! A couple of entertainment websites, such as Peopleonline, have already posted some photos from the set of Shania's new video. The first photo shows Shania with a new hairstyle while taking a break from shooting the video. The other photos, posted at an international photo media website, show Shania with both her co-stars in the video: Billy Currington and Mark McGrath. Shania to Perform at CMA 2004! Although Shania did not receive any nominations this year for the 2004 CMA awards, quite a disturbing decision on the CMA part I may add, Shania will be present as a special guest to the new show hosts Brooks and Dunn. According to the Country Music Association press release, Shania is also scheduled to perform the night of the show, November 9, 2004, the same day as the release of her "Greatest Hits" CD which you can already pre-order online at Amazon.com!

More Info on Shania's Febreeze Scentstories Project. According to a press release, Shania Twain will be the image of Febreeze's product Scentstories as previously reported. Shania's song "Forever and For Always" will also be used in radio and TV ads, as well as Shania's photos in print ads. Shania will be promoting special scented discs that can used in a special CD player to release different scents according to the track played. From Countrystars.com: "Shania and her song "Forever and For Always" will be featured in Scentstories TV ads that began yesterday. PLUS, a new yet-to-be-released duet to be showcased in the Scentstories radio ads; and Shania starring in the upcoming radio and print ads.

2004 STNAOFC Fundraiser: BID on Shania Memorabilia! The Shania Twain North American Online Fan Club (STNAOFC) has decided to use its annual fundraiser to help America’s Second Harvest and the Kids Café, two charities which have been supported repeatedly by Shania Twain in the past. 
The amount of the fundraiser will be determined by donations from Shania fans and by special auctions of Shania memorabilia organized by the Fan Club on Ebay. We will start collecting the donations and the bidding on the auctions on August 28, 2004 and we will continue until September 26, 2004. All donations and auctions profits will go straight to the charities.

NEW Shania Single: September 7! According to Shania's website at Mercury Nashville, Shania's first single from her "Greatest Hits" CD will go to radio stations in the US on September 7! The first single is a duet with Billy Currington titled "Party for Two." "When asked if he was nervous recording with the international superstar, Currington replied, "She was so gracious and kind. It was my first trip to Europe but both she and Mutt Lange) made me feel at home. It was an experience of a lifetime - one I will never forget."

Shania in New Print Ad This Fall! According to a report from Access Hollywood on Aug. 27, Shania Twain has taken part in a photoshoot to be in a Fabreeze print ad for charity. "SHANIA TWAIN is going undercover…for now. Shania recently shot some print ads for a secret new product she’ll endorse this fall, according to a story on one of her websites. Apparently, a large portion of the proceeds from the sale of this mystery product will go to Second Harvest, Shania’s pet cause, which helps feeds kids who wouldn’t otherwise get a good meal at home." "Greatest Hits" CD SETLIST and First Single! Mercury Records has issued a press release with details about Shania's "Greatest Hits" CD. The album will have 21 tracks, with 3 new songs: the first single is a duet titled "Party for Two" and Shania has done two versions of it. One version is with Mercury Nashville newcomer Billy Currington, the second version recorded by Shania is with Mark McGrath, the singer of Sugar Ray. Videos for both versions have already been shot in Europe in August and they will start airing in September. According to the the press release, Shania said: "I wanted to put together all of my favorite songs from over the years for a fun, high energy album. This record is exactly that, as well as a dedication to all of the passionate fans that have enjoyed and supported me throughout the years."

CBC Shania Movie Update! Corinna Wrona of Channel 3 News in Canada has spoken with the Shania movie producer Laszlo Barna recently: "On Friday the Province of Ontario announced a one-million dollar contribution to help pay for the made-for-t.v. movie. Barna says the money wil make a huge difference because the movie is NOT an inexpensive one....ie. will involve choreography, period cars, period costumes, etc. 
The movie will chronicle Shania’s life from age eight, and is based upon Robin Eggar’s unauthorized biography – a book not officially endorsed by Twain. The TV Special "UP!Close and Personal" that Shania taped in Nashville was also nominated for Country Music Program or Special of the Year. Fans Thrilled, Get to See Shania's Stage and Tour Bus at Second Shania Fan Convention in Timmins! The Second Annual Shania Fan Convention in Timmins, Ontario has ended on August 8, 2004 with many Shania fans thrilled about the experience! This year's convention attracted twice as many fans as last year's convention, they came from different countries, and the Shania Centre had BIG surprises prepared for them. The fans got to see the many Shania landmarks in Timmins, they were amazed by the great exhibits of Shania memorabilia and outfits at the Shania Centre, including many of Shania awards and tons of photos of Shania in concert this past year. In addition, Shania donated her tour stage and tour bus to the Centre so that fans could dance on the same stage Shania did during her 2003/2004 world tour. Fans were surprised even more when they got to see the inside of the tour bus used by Shania for the "Come On Over" and "UP!" tours. 
Among the many events planned, Shania fans in Timmins got to play golf, compete in a Shania Trivia, show their singing skills in a karaoke event, and bid on many autographed Shania items in the convention auction! Two of Shania's bandmembers were also present at the convention: Cory Churko and JD Blair, respectively fiddle player and drummer for Shania on tour. JD Blair entertained the fans on a special drum clinic showing off how great he is with the drums!

Fans Getting Ready for Second Fan Convention! An article posted in the Globe and Mail newspaper in Canada, titled "All Shania, all the time in singer's hometown" talks about all the fans going to this year's Shania Fan Convention in Timmins, scheduled from Aug. 5 till 8. "Fans of Shania Twain have already started arriving in Timmins from as far away as Europe for the second annual convention celebrating the Canadian country-music superstar, set for Aug. 5-8.

Two New CMT Shows with Shania's Videos. CMT US is preparing two new video shows with possibly Shania videos The first one is titled "Stacked: Full Throttle" and CMT is asking Shania fans how the "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" video has inspired them to ride a motorcycle. The second show is titled "Stacked: Wheels" and is looking for how the video "That Don't Impress Me Much" has influenced Shania fans' lives. For more information, click HERE! Shania Sends Stage to Timmins! Shania's hometown of Timmins and the Shania Twain Centre have now a new Shania memorabilia to show the fans: Shania's tour stage from her 2003/2004 tour. As announced at her last concert in Sunrise, FL the stage has now arrived in Timmins ready to be assembled by Shania's crew so that fans going to the Shania Fan Convention this August will be able to step on it. According to an article posted at True North News.com, "Singing sensation Shania Twain has donated the stage she used during her Up Tour to the City of Timmins.
The 78x48 foot stage arrived in Timmins Thursday night all the way from Florida where Shania ended her tour. Covered in purple and white tissue confetti from the Office Depot Centre in Sunrise, it is now stored in a Timmins-owned facility. Maintenance and Parks Operations Manager Norm Beaudry says the stage, along with many other items from the tour arrived in two 45 foot closed-in trailers. Beaudry estimates the value of the stage is around a quarter of a million dollars. "It blows my mind," exclaimed Beaudry. Shania's Tour Lights in Magazine Article. The December 2003 issue of the professional magazine "Lighting Dimensions" has an article on Shania's stage lighting system for her recent world tour. The article titled "Shania Twain in 360 Degrees" discusses the decisions made by Shania and the engineers to come up with the specific lighting system for the tour. Cory Churko to Attend Shania Fan Convention! Tracy Hautanen from the Shania Twain centre has announced that a second member from Shania's band will be attending the Second Shania Fan convention in Timmins this August: Cory Churko! Cory is one of the three fiddler players on tour as well as a multitalented musician who has been working with other artists. Shania in Linedancer Magazine - UK. The July 2004 issue of the British magazine Linedancer had Shania on the cover with an article titled "Shania Not Just a Pretty Face." Linda Wills talks about Shania's life and career, highlighting Shania's records with her albums and her songwriting philosophy: "Up! Continued to break record sales and inspire dozens of Line dance scripts. Many of us have a view on what makes her such a success, but her opinion on the matter is surprisingly simple."It's keeping it real lyrically - that's my approach," she says. "It is very conversational, which is very much the way the last two albums were written. Those were the songs people relate to best. Saying things how I would have spoken them. Writing is very much an artistic playground. It's the most fun thing to do."

According to an article posted at Countryweekly, "Well now you can win that cover, matted and framed - along with a couple of never-before seen pictures from that photo shoot. Shania is donating the cover plus two Polaroid test prints. Test Polaroids are used at photo shoots to check lighting, composition and other elements of the photograph before the actual shoot begins. Typically the Polaroid prints are destroyed but Shania graciously donated two of them - even autographing one - to Gilda's Club Nashville. All proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit Gilda's Club Nashville, a social and emotional support community for men, women and children whose lives have been touched by cancer. 3 New Songs on Greatest Hits CD! According to an article posted by Neil Haslop on NetMusicCountDown Shania's Greatest Hits CD announced previously by Universal will have 3 new songs: "Fans of Shania Twain will finally be able to get all of her greatest hits in one package set for release this coming November. In addition to her hits, the collection will contain three new songs. This will obviously buy Shania more time to transition from world-touring mode back to studio recording artist for her next album. Twain has promised she won’t take as long this time between new studio albums.". There is still no official confirmation from Shania Twain regarding the Greatest Hits CD. According to one radio station (92.3 WIL)the possible release date for Shania's Greatest Hits CD will be November 23!, right on time for Christmas shopping! Stay tuned for more details! JD Blair to Attend Shania Fan Convention! Tracy Hautanen from the Shania Twain Centre has announced that Shania's drummer JD Blair will be attending the 2004 Shania Fan Convention in Timmins from Aug.5 till Aug. 9! Greatest Hits CD is COMING!Universal Music has announced in a newsletter that the label will release a "Greatest Hits" CD from Shania Twain by the end of the year! There is still no official confirmation from Shania Twain, and no information on how many tracks will be on the Greatest Hits CD.
