Untrue Article about Shania Centre. Music365.com is running a short article on the Shania Twain Centre in Timmins, claiming that it was Shania's idea to dedicate it to herself! Now, we all know the truth in here, so please view that page and at the bottom of it click on email to them to let them know what the truth is and to answer their question on how much the fans would be ready to pay to get into the Exhibition Centre. Shania not Attending CCMA Awards. According to canoe.ca, Shania will not be attending the CCMA Awards ceremony on September 11. The article mentions that : "Twain received six nominations even though she hasn't released a new album for nearly three years -- proof that the pop/country diva has developed incredible staying power. Terri defends Shania. As you know, the CCMA awards are coming up soon (on September 11, 2000 to be exact). Well, Terri Clark (who is a fellow Canadian who also happens to be CO-hosting the CCMAs this year) spoke out about Shania in a NEW interview. In the article/interview, Terri talks about being nominated along Shania at various award shows & Terri ALSO Defended Shania (in regard to the "boos" at last year's CCMA award show)!!! Shania is Coming Home! This is straight out of countrystars.com: SHANIA TO VISIT HER MILLION DOLLAR GIFT. Shania Twain says she'll come to the grand opening of the Shania Twain Cultural Centre in Timmins, Ontario, next July. When she does she'll be able to see some of her stuff again that she's donated already to the attraction. Shania has donated about $1 million worth of concert outfits, awards, personal memorabilia and other items. The folks at the Centre say they'll adjust their grand opening to Shania's schedule to make sure she can come home for the big event. (Thanks so much Cbspock!)

Shania in Countrystars.com Question Section. This is from countrystars.com this week: Q: My biggest dream is to have Shania Twain sing at my wedding. I pray for this every night. I am a HUGE fan of hers. What would I have to do to realize my dream? Joanne from NY
A: Nothing in life is impossible. But, with thousands of personal requests like this that Shania, and stars like her receive, it's not likely that she would have the time to sing at a stranger's wedding. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask and if you send her a very compelling letter through her record company or fan club, it's possible that it might come to her attention. But certainly don't feel bad if this extremely busy superstar who now lives in Europe can't grant your dream. If I were in your shoes, I'd make sure her CD is played at the wedding. If you're really creative you might pick up her terrific Concert Video (It's on DVD too) and run that on a couple of TV screens at your reception, etc. In a way, she'll be there for you musically at your wedding as she obviously has been there enough in your life to make you a fan. Did Shania Know Him or Not? Inan interview with Paul Sabu of "Beginnings," he said that Shania wasn't well-schooled in Rock, and that before they wrote together, he told her a lot about it, and had her listen to a lot. He said he is a Mutt Lange fan, and discussed his
work extensively with her. Now, somebody is lying, and we know who that is since this is what Shania has always said (from countrystars.com):
SHANIA DIDN'T KNOW WHO MUTT WAS. Shania Twain says that her relationship with her producer/husband started over the phone when Mutt Lange had called her about taking her on as a client. And Shania swears she didn't realize she was talking to the hugely successful pop producer of folks like Michael Bolton and Bryan Adams. "I didn't know who MUTT LANGE was," she told us. I mean I never heard of that name before, I've never read the back of any rock albums and I don't have a lot of rock albums." Shania added, "It happened over the phone actually that I realized who he was. Because he referred to a song of BRYAN ADAMS' album WAKING UP THE NEIGHBORS and because we were kind of talking creatively over the phone and I said, "Oh," I said, "Can you hold on a second?" I'm thinking "Duhhh! BRYAN ADAMS!" So I ran over to my record collection and I pulled out - yeah, and his name's all over it, writer, producer, all that stuff. I thought, Oh my God! I was so embarrassed, you know. So I got on the phone and I go - and I think by this time he had realized I didn't know who he was, but here's me, trying to save face: 'Oh..yeah, yeah.. I know exactly what you mean.. yeah, that was really good.' And I'm talking like that, as if I knew the whole time. And I guess he just chuckled. I mean I'm sure I made a complete fool of myself. Shania in TV Guide. In the Robins Report of the aug 26-sept 1 issue of TV GUIDE, the article mentions VH-1 and CMT. The quote is ""....CMT is a diamond in the rough" Sykes says. "Look at the crossover success of Shania Twain and Faith Hill, and it's a no brainer how you can expand CMT's reach". Big surprise that those artists overlap VH-1's audience. Shania & the Stars. Neil Haislop had some fun with Shania & Astrology on Countrystars.com. ANOTHER SHANIA THING -- DOES SHE LIVE UP TO ASTROLOGY SIGN? In the current "In Style" magazine they did a thing called "Fashion Astrology" and analyzed the stars through their fashions and zodiac sign. Canada's Hall of Fame. CMT Canada had a program on for hours yesterday going through the videos of its inductees into their Hall of Fame (Females): Shania was no.1 based on her COO album sales. Patsy Cline came in second. As this plus the latest CCMA nominations attest, Canadians really love their Shania! (Thanks Roger!) Shania is NOW Only ONE Spot BEHIND the Dixie Chicks on the MAIN album chart (Shania is at # 37 & the Dixies are at # 36!!!So, either the CCMA nominations helped her OR Shania's reunion appearance helped!!!! According to Hazel at www.countrycool.com, "I’ve learned that equine love, Shania Twain and her hubby/producer/co-writer, R.J. “Mutt” Lange have bought several new horses recently for their Swiss Alps estate. The couple took a recent vacation to Portugal where the singer discovered a new sport she really loves, horse ball. Horse ball is a cross between rugby, basketball and polo. All players ride horses and pass the basketball size ball with handles making it easier to catch. Goals are on either end of the court. CCMAs WILL Be Televised! This year's Canadian Country Music Awards wil be simulcast live from Edmonton's Skyreach Centre on Monday, Sept.11 (9:00-11:00 ET) on TNN and CMT Canada, marking the first time the Canadian Country Music Association's most prestigious night will be telecast live throughout North America. Shania and Brazil. MIFLAW is currently being used as the main music theme for the Brazilian soap opera titled "Laços de Familia" (Family´s ties), on the GLOBO channel (see pic below). This has helped Shania reach #1 on the radio airplay chart in Brazil. (thanks Marco!)

"Come On Over" is STILL Selling! On YAHOO!'s official site, there is an article that contains info. about THIS Week's chart results (that will "officially" be released on Thursday)! Well, that article ALSO mentions the Sales success that Shania's "Come On Over" album is STILL having. HERE is what the article had to say about the continuing sales success of "Come On Over": Keep Coming: Everyone knows of the unbelievable sales success of Shania Twain's Come on Over. Released in late 1997, the album has been certified 16-times platinum and has actually sold more than 13 million copies in the United States. But is it still selling? SPEAKING OF LEE ANN WOMACK, SHE'S A SHANIA PURIST: Lee Ann Womack knows the people look to her as a country traditionalist, "But that doesn't reflect all my taste in music," she says. Turns out Lee Ann is a big fan of Shania Twain's music, in fact she's a Twain purist and doesn't like people that are now copying her sound. "I'm a fan of Shania Twain's music. I'm not a fan of people trying to be Shania Twain. That is what really irks me. You don't want to hear another one. And I don't want to hear another George Strait. I only want to hear Shania do Shania. And I think people are surprised to hear me say I don't mind Shania. We have predicted Mid to Late 2001 for a release!!No one will officially place a firm date, as it depends on Mutt's (Shania's Husband's) workload!!. He is a little busy right now!!. "I'm Holding On to Love": 11th Single: It's Official. After weeks of meandering up the charts as as album cut, "Holdin' On To Love (To Save My Life)" has officially been released toCountry radio. PLEASE CALL YOUR RADIO STATION AND REQUEST IT! Here's Billboard's review:

Mercury dips into Twain's multi-platinum "Come On Over" album for yet another single, and if her track record is any indication, this should be another hit. "I'm Holdin' On To Love (To Save My Life)" is typical Twain, marked by a bouncy melody, frisky performance, and sing-along chorus that will ingrain itself into the listeners' consciousness. The production is a sonic smorgasbord of hand claps, kittenish quips, and insistent percussion. Twain vocally sashays through this feisty uptempo tune about hanging on to a good love. The lyric is rather lightweight, but the production is ear-catching, and there's no denying Twain's ability to reel in both programmers and listeners with her vocal charisma. This is one of those little tunes that pushes all the right buttons that Twain and Lange have engaged so successfully before. Look for it to follow its predecessors up the chart. Predictions on Next Album Release. According to Hazel smith at Countrycool.com, "The word I got from Switzerland, high in the Alps, is Shania Twain and her hubby/producer Mutt Lange have two songs complete and ready to demo in the studio and three others started. Let’s see, they’ve been working since December – seven months. If they finish two more songs in the next seven months that will put us in February 2001. Remember the Christmas CD Shania promised for 2000 was nixed to work on this one. Shania told us at the press conference last October to expect a new CD in the summer of 2001. At the rate Shania and Mutt are going, my calculations are maybe six songs will be finished by July 2001. I’ll be surprised if there’s new Shania music by summer 2002." The question was by Chris Jennings from Lansing. Michigan: Why do female singers like Faith Hill and Trisha Yearwood seem to get more press and prestigious gigs than my favorite, Shania Twain? A. Hill and Yearwood have new albums this year and are on tour promoting them. But Twain,34 who's had her share of headliners and was Entertainer of the Year at last year's Country Music Association Awards and this year's Academy of Country Music, is taking a break while working on a fourth CD. She toured for two years in support of 1998's Come On Over, and it paid off big: With 26 million copies sold worlwide, it is the best-selling country album of all time. Shania reaches out. A few months ago a father wrote on our messageboard of his daughter with kidney failure, who needed a transplant and wanted to meet Shania. Well the daughter, Christin Dockery rec'd a new kidney from her father and thru the Starlight foundation, Shania received word. At this moment items are being sent to Christin from Shania. Although she hasnt met Shania and hopefully she will soon, the gift could not be coming at a better time. Christin is back in the hospital because of pneumonia. Her father says she is in critical but stable condition.Hopefully she will make a speedy recovery. All our prayers and best wishes to Christin.Way to go SHANIA !!! In spite of their hopeful belief in rumors that Shania Twain may release a Christmas album this year as well as a TV Special, her Canadian fan websites finally believe what we reported and her publicity company confirms there will be no new product from Shania this year.
